Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
This afternoon, explore the city. Visit Sukhbataar Square, heart of the city the Natural History Museum, well known for its excellent dinosaurs skeletal. You will be guided by a local expert here.
This evening, be treated to a local cultural performance.

Our exciting 4WD Landcruiser convoy adventure begins! Today is a 400km (about 5 to 6 hours) drive across the endless expanse of the Mongolia rolling steppes. En route, encounter the nomads and have the opportunity to see the rare Bactrian Camels.
We will also explore Orkhon Valley, the cradle of Mongolian civilization and UN This area have been recognized as a world heritage by UNESCO, as the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape.

Today, we visit the Karakorum – the 13th century capital of the Mongolia Empire. Visit the Museum and the Erfene Zuu Monastery, probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. We will also explore the archaeological site of this once great city of the nomads, built be Genghis Khan. Also, visit Khar Balgas, established by the earlier Uyghur Empire in the 8th century.
Expect to be back in the evening.

Our 4WD Landcruiser adventure continues, off grid, leaving tarmac road. Today, it is a 290km or 7 hours drive. Observe how the luxuriant green of the steppes slowly give way to the arid rugged beauty of the Gobi Desert.

For the adventurous, go for a pre-breakfast hike to Ongiin Monastery.
Continue on our 4WD for another 190km or half day drive to arrive at the renowned Three Camel Lodge where we spend our next 2 nights.
This afternoon, visit to nearby Bayanzag, or the so-called Flaming Cliffs, made famous by the Central Asiatic Expedition from the Natural History Museum of New York in the 1920s. The expedition unearthed the first-ever fossilized dinosaur eggs (Protoceratops) here in 1926.

It’s landscape galore today! In the morning, take a short easy hike in the Yol Valley and visit the Gurvansaikhan Mountains and the Khavtsgait rock graffiti site.
In the afternoon, enjoy down time at the lodge. For the active, explore Moltsog Sands Dunes or visit Havstgait petroglyphs.

This morning, fly back to Ulaanbataar.
Upon arrival, visit the Ganden Monastery, the most important and vibrant in Mongolia. We will experience a private blessing here. Also, visit the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan.
One hour transfer to downtown Ulaanbaatar.
